KBEC Group, Inc. proposes to provide a job placement program that includes work readiness training to underemployed and unemployed youth residents of the District of Columbia with the goal of providing participants with basic academic skill development, including attaining a GED or high school diploma, soft skill development, work readiness certifications, and job placement. The KBEC Group, Inc.’s Training, Education, and Careers Program (TEC) will offer 21st-century workforce readiness training, job skills, and work-based learning with an outcome of job placement to residents identified as underemployed or unemployed with multiple barriers to attaining competitive, unsubsidized employment. The barriers include low-level literacy and math skills, a lack of or limited hard job skills and employment histories, and other socio-economic barriers.
